June 29: Book / Movie Meet: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This box of Kleenex was also suggested by Cleo as well as others, who would like to start?

June 29 Book Club Meet: The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

This was a book that has come up several times; since Cleodacat was the latest person to suggest, how about she leads? Awesome!

Cawfee Talk: OITNB. Coffee optional

Here be where we talk about all things Orange Is The New Black again; there is another OITNB post earlier on, but it looks as though more people have finished Season 2; let's talk!

There will absolutely be spoilers, keep that in mind!

June 29 Book / Movie Selections: Goldfinch and The Fault in Our Stars

It was a bit of a toss-up this time; not a whole lot of voting (and a new thing called anti-voting that was used a couple of times!) and not really a clear winner, so I'm gonna executive decision this oot and go with:

Book selection: Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

Movie Selection: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (also can be read as book selection), in theatres currently

I am also going to do a staggered start, as suggested by someone far smarter than myself; book discussion starting at 6:00 PM MTN time and the Sunday Night Social post starting at 6:30.

Sound good?? Hope to see everyone there!

June 29 Book / Movie Selections: VOTE!

While we had a fantastic time at the last book club, we didn't get a lot of book or movie titles this time around. Since we had some great books suggested previously, I am totally throwing some back into the mix; we'll read a Canuckladian yet (I gotyerback Seven and Chevy Stevens)!

Voting will close Monday, June 16, go ahead and vote for up to 5! Whatever you feel like you wanna read, throw it in there.

The choices for voting are:

June 29 Book and Movie Club Meet / Social: Suggestions!

Hey there everyone! What a fantastic meet that was Sunday! SO MUCH fun! For the next one, I am totally putting all the previous suggestions back in; there were some very good choices in there and I think we should take another run at them. New books and movies are also very welcome, we already have:

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, a good choice because the movie is ooot right now. Thanks, Cleo!

Please put other suggestions in comments, and thanks again for a great night! Awesome!

ps: I'm toying with putting together an email notification list, so that people don't miss participating if they happen to not be reading CDaN that day or fall asleep reading their tablet or something...there is a way to be notified using the box to the right at the top, but if you want to make sure, you can just email me from my profile and I will put together a distribution list and make sure everyone is contacted about meets. You could totally even start a whole new throwaway email account, whatever floats your boat, sailor! Catch as catch can is also good!

See you soon!

Sunday Night Social: NEW POST: Less Scrolling!

I started a new post because the other one went over 200 comments and it became a lot of scrolling, no Bueno!

Sunday Night Social: Whatcha Drinking??? Let's Talk Some Shite

Lotsa trolling going on in CDaN-land these days, I have to wonder if it's just super hot or if the MI system is just not doing what it's supposed to. Or just jerks. I am drinking Sleeman Honey Brown Lager, what are you currently imbibing? Change your avi to your bevvy if you can!

And what's on your mind?

Book Club Meet: Book / Movie Choice: The Princess Bride by William Goldman

This was the overall winner, and fortunately has the flexibility of being the book AND movie choice, as they are both so.good and actually follow fairly closely.

As TongueN.Cheek was the suggestor; perhaps he would like to lead?

Book Club Meet: 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Good evening, ladies and gents! This is our 4th? meet, so excited! There will be two other posts going up, one for The Princess Bride and one for Sunday Night Social. Visit them all!! I know I'm a little early, but one of my favourite Sprinkles is super tired.

This one is for discussing 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult, runner up for book choice. It was actually suggested by more than one person, but JSierra or Seven, did one of you want to start?
